Acupuncture for Life

"I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure due to a combination of a high-stress job, poor diet, and lack of exercise. After making major lifestyle changes in these areas, I wanted to supplement them - but not through medication.

Acupuncture interested me because it's natural - but beyond that, I didn't know anything about it at all. Also, I am extremely afraid of needles.

Dr. Chen took lots of time just explaining acupuncture to me. I have NEVER received that sort of attention in a doctor's office. Also, there is no pain. Dr. Chen's dexterity is so reassuring, and best of all, my blood pressure has been down at a steady 114/80!

Most surprisingly, acupuncture is actually VERY relaxing - much like a spa treatment - but much cheaper. Dr. Chen made it so easy, and I am very glad to have found a way to pamper myself without chemicals!"

"After the loss of a loved one, I was experiencing a myriad of symptoms related to stress and grief. In conjunction with regular psychotherapy, I came to Acupuncture for Life for treatment of these problems including depression, insomnia, loss of appetite and other digestive problems, and a wide variety of psychosomatic pains. Since then, I have continued to use acupuncture to treat stress injuries from sports, headaches, the common cold, and even acne.

After my first treatment, I found my mood improved, and had my first good night's sleep in weeks. My appetite and digestion were improved and many of the pains were greatly reduced. My symptoms have improved faster than I would have imagined possible. Since then, I have experienced a great deal of relief from a wrist injury, several colds and my skin has even cleared up dramatically.

I had approximately 15-20 treatments for my initial problems suffering grief. Since then, I have been coming almost weekly for a regular tune-up. The treatments are very relaxing.

Dr. Chen is always understanding and soothing, never judgmental, and has a good sense of humor. I am never afraid to go to her with my problems."

"I have had lower back pain for over 5 years. I have had physiotherapy and have tried a range of treatments that are based on increasing local blood flow by heat. None of the above had the long-lasting effect I experienced with acupuncture."

"I had pain in my neck that had been bothering me for a week. Five days after the treatment, the pain was gone, and I was able to ride the roller coasters at the amusement park without any repercussions.

I've seen both acupuncture and Western doctors, and I usually rely on acupuncture whenever I have muscle pain. Dr. Chen is the most candid doctor I have ever visited. Before she performs any treatment, she will explain in lay terms what she is about to do. I wish my Western doctor were this good!

Dr. Chen's demeanor is always pleasant and friendly. She has a witty sense of humor that always lifts my spirits. I look forward to seeing Dr. Chen again."

"I decided to try acupuncture because I was having a severe knee problem for over a year. I had already seen five (5) doctors about my problem and each of them gave me five (5) different diagnoses, along with several different medications and shots to my knee. After all of this I was still having trouble walking. I decided to try acupuncture because at that point I was looking for any relief. I went and I was very impressed with my acupuncturist (Caroline Chen), she did and still does a complete check up on my health problems. After my first visit I was able to walk with little or no pain. I was able to wear heels again. I even felt like going dancing. I have been going for acupuncture since January 2005 and it has changed my life. I will be doing acupuncture for life. With each visit I feel better and better and I look forward to each visit."

"For the last three or four years, I have been having problems with arthritis in my knee. I have been to a couple of orthopedic doctors, taken medicine for my joints and have had a series of injections. Nothing seemed to give me relief for very long. My daughter, a physician assistant, suggested I go to an acupuncturist for treatment, but I was hesitant because I thought it would be painful. However, after all this pain in my knee a friend told me about how it had helped her husband and referred me to Dr. Chen. Since going to her, the improvements have been tremendous. Dr. Chen is gentle, kind, and very knowledgeable. She has certainly made a difference in my mobility these days. With each treatment I feel better, for which I am grateful."
